Homage paid to martyrs

As part of the Navy Day celebrations, the Eastern Naval Command paid homage to service personnel who made the supreme sacrifice in various actions including the 1971 War today. A floral wreath was placed by Vice Admiral Karambir Singh, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, ENC at the Navy War Memorial on Beach Road.

Governor for city

Governor of AP and Telangana ESL Narasimhan will arrive here on Thursday morning and will drive to the Naval Base. At 2.30m, he will receive President Ramnath Kovind, who is arriving on a two-day visit to the city. According to an official programme, Narasimhan will accompany the President in the presentation of colours to the Submarine arm of the Indian Navy on Friday. He leaves Visakhapatnam for Hyderabad at 12.10 on Friday.

VC releases book

A book “ Media, Cinema and TV” was released by AU Vice Chancellor G.Nageswara Rao on Monday. He called upon the people to take the good from the media. Medipalli Ravi Kumar, Professor of SV Univiersity , Tirupati introduced the book.

Defence Pension Adalat on December 12

The office of the Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (Pensions) Allahabad will hold a Defence Pension Adalat at Samudrika Auditorium on December 12. The Adalat is meant for spot settlement of pension related grievances of Defence pensioners including Defence civilians in the State. Pension related grievances should be sent to cda.albd@nic.in. As many as 31 of 265 students of Avanthi Institute of Engineering and Technology, who appeared for the written test qualified in the campus placement of Vasudhaika Software Solutions Private Limited held on the college campus according to college Placement Officer T.Srinivasa Rao.

A “ Mahila Chitanya Sadassu” will be organized by BJP on Wednesday. MP K.Haribabu released a poster of the meeting on Monday. BJP City president M.Nagendra and State executive member Ratna Kumari were among those present.

Mass launch of 50,000 toilets’ construction

Construction of 50,000 individual toilets will be launched on Tuesday in 11 mandals of the Agency area of the district to realise the goal of open defection free district, ITDA Project Officer Ravi Pattanshetti has said. At a workshop on ‘Swachh Visakha’ on Monday at Paderu, he said all the toilets constructed should be geo-tagged. Paderu Sub-Collector Balaji D.K., Special Deputy Collector Venugopal and others participated.

RINL to host regional meet on Hindi

Town Official Language Implementation Committee will conduct south-West regional official language conference on December 8. Being hosted by RINL, arrangements for the conference were reviewed at a meeting here on Monday. RINL CMD P.Madhusudhan who is also the TOLIC chairman highlighted the need for effective implementation of the official language.
