CII opens GST Helpdesk

Confederation of Indian Industry today launched GST Helpdesk in association with Central Board of Excise & Customs, Visakhapatnam Zone at CII Visakhapatnam Zone office. Additional Commissioner of Central Excise P.Murthusamy inaugurated the helpdesk. He nominated officials from his department to be present at the help desk with the primary objective of helping the industry members with the GST implementation issues and address issues faced by them. The help desk will function for three hours from 2.30pm to 5.30pm on Monday to Friday at CII Visakhapatnam Office, Opposite SBI Main branch, Visakhapatnam.

Rally against liquor shop

Students and NSS volunteers of St.Joseph College today took out a rally expressing their solidarity with the residents of Gnanapuram who have been agitating demanding closure of liquor shop in their vicinity. The students said the liquor outlets should not be allowed near educational and religious places.

Free training in mediation

The Institute of Sri Ram Chandra Consciousness is organizing a two-day free traiing programme for those who are interested in ‘pranahuti-aided mediation’ from Saturday. The technique will be taught to the participants from 9am to 6pm and those aged between 18 to 55 years are eligible to take part. Details can be had by contacting 8500094810.

Education fair on Saturday

The IDP Education India service provider will organize an education fair at the IDP office on Saturday between 1pm and 4pm. About nine representatives from US universities will interact with the students. This apart, a two-hour long workshop on ‘Career guidance and educational opportunities in the US’ at GITAM university.
