”Happy bags” distributed

As part of ‘Kindness Month’ initiative, over 750 students of Oakridge International School visited more than 15 government schools for distributing ‘happy bags’. The students packed biscuits, munchies and stationary items including pencil box, notebooks in these bags. Amit Jain, Director of Oakridge International School, Visakhapatnam appreciated the gesture of students and staff members.

Ashok Gajapathi Raju to open cargo terminal

Union Minister of Civil Aviation P.Ashok Gajapathi Raju will inaugurate the international air cargo terminal at the Old Terminal Building at the airport on Tuesday. Ch.Ayyanna Patrudu and Ganta Srinivasa Rao and MPs K.Haribabu and M.Srinivasa Rao will participate.

Drink driving case – youth jailed

A motorcyclist was given a ten day jail term and slapped a fine of Rs.1,400 for drink driving by a local court today. Probably, this is the first longest jail term awarded to a person in drink driving case. ADCP (Traffic) K.Mahendra Patrudu said 24 year old motorcyclist Panasa Shankunthala Kumar was caught for driving in inebriated condition by the police. Magistrate B.Srinivasa Rao Patnaik sentenced Kumar to 10-day imprisonment.

Skill training for physically challenged

RINL today launched a skill development training programme to people with disabilities under its CSR initiative. The programme is aimed at empowering 100 people residing in surrounding villages of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant and other areas. RINL Director (Personnel) K.C.Das inaugurated the programme.
