Navy band enthralls Vizagites

The Eastern Naval Command struck a chord with the audience at VUDA Park on Saturday as a band of sailors provided a musical treat as a prelue to Navy Day which will be celebrated on December 4. The band comprising 40 talented musicians left the crowd spellbound with their prowess on their musical instruments. The performance featured a wide selection of music covering from martial, English, Hindi, pop music to some sour-stirring songs of patriotic fervor.

Joint Collector inaugurates Book festival

Joint Collector G.Srijana today inaugurated Visalandhra Book Festival at the Turner’s Choultry. Speaking on the occasion, she underlined the importance of reading books for a person to gain knowledge. Visalandhra Vignana Samithi treasurer J.V.Satyanarayana Murty, president of Progressive Writers’ Association Chandu Subba Rao spoke on the occasion.

NBA accreditation

Five programmes of Vignan’s Institute of Information Technology, Duvvada received accreditation by NBA. According to Chairman of Vignan Group Lavu Rathaiah, the departments of EEE,ESE, CSE, IT and MECH were accredited following an inspection done by an expert team from NBA in July.

IGNOU invites applications for admissions

IGNOU is inviting applications for masters, degree, PG diploma and diploma programmes from January 2018 session. Online admissions are open for 15 masters, six degree and a range of PG diploma, diploma and certificate programmes offered by IGNOU. The University is also offering direct admission into PG diplomas such as Human Resource Management and Operations Management. Interested can download the prospectus form the website http://www.ignou.ac.in. The last date for admissions is December 31.
