GITAM convocation on Tuesday

GITAM university will honour noted actor, theatre artist, dramatist, playwright and dialogue writer Gollapudi Maruti Rao and Tata Memorial Hospital Director Dr.Rajendra Achyut Badwe, with honorary doctorates at the 8th Convocation at the University on Tuesday.

Differently-able excel at sports meet

A number of differently-abled persons took part in the recently concluded district level sports competition organized by Rama Balananda Sangham, Rotary Club, Anakapalle, M.M.Charitable Trust, Prajwal Vani Welfare Society and Balasuraksha. Visually challenged contestants exhibited their skills in show put, discus throw and race walk. 64 events were held in various categories.

Training course

A free training course in tailoring will be offered jointly by the Ministry of Textiles and Suryaveer Fashion Institute on the institute’s premises on Sankara Matham Road,. Peace walk organized

A Peace Walk was organized from Kalimata temple to YMCA today marking the 129th birth anniversary of the first Educational Minister of India Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad. The walk was organized by Andhra Univeristy, The Maulana Trust and Andhra Vidyarthi Muslim Samkshema Sangham.

Ganta Srinivasa Rao promise to GVMC contractors

HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao today assured GVMC contractors that he would take up the issue of pending bills for works under various grants with the Collector and the paucity of sand with officials of the Mines Department. VFS to hold film festival to mark anniversary

Vizag Film Society will be celebrating its 4th anniversary with a host of programmes from December 6 to 10 at Andhra University Platinum Jubilee Hall. As part of the celebrations, a film making workshop will be held by MV Raghu, senior cinematographer on December 7. A workshop on the art of photography will be conducted by SVS Ravi Kumar on December 8.
