Work shop on nano wires

Industries are working towards nano technology, Andhra Univeristy Vice Chancellor G.Nageswara Rao has said. Inaugurating a workshop on ‘semiconductor nano wires for electronics applications’ at Department of Instrumentation at AU today, he said failures are stepping stones of success and we should learn from them. He felicitated distinguished professor of Australian National University Chennupati Jagadish at the workshop.

City doctor attends global meet

Noted interventionist cardiologist N.K.Panigrahi returned to the city after presenting a case study on primary percutaneous coronary intervention in left main occulusion at an International Conference held in the United States. Dr.Panigrahi, who works at Apollo Hospitals was invited to the 29th annual scientific symposium of transcatheter cardiovascular therapeutics organized by Cardiovascular Research Foundation as advisory faculty member at Denver, Colorado.

Plea on Kollam, Shirdi trains

Rajya Sabha member T.Subbarami Reddy has requested Railway Minister Peyush Goyal to run the weekly Visakhapatnam-Kollam and Visakhapatnam-Sainagar Shirdi express trains and the trains in the return direction with greater frequency. In a letter to the Railway Minister, he said though there are number of trains from the North to Trivandrum, getting reservation was turning out to be difficult to pilgrims, he said.

Bank burgled at Anakapalle

Some unidentified miscreants reportedly made good with around 3,175 grams of gold ornaments from locker in a bank at Anakapalle. Though the incident is suspected to have happened between Friday night and wee hours of Monday, it came to light after the bank authorities came to know of the same after opening bank on Monday morning. The miscreants even took away the hard disc which contains the CCTV footage of the bank. The bank manager of Grameena Vikas Bank of Kottur area approached the police and lodged a complaint that a theft was reported in the bank.

No posting given for Kuchipudi teachers

The AP State government Kuchipudi Dance Techers Federation today alleged that the promise of appointing eligible and deserving candidates as Kuchipudi teachers had been hanging in the air for the past four years. Speaking to media, P.Sai Jyothi, coordinator of the federation said even though candidates were informed that they would be given contract basis teaching position in Kuchipudi, they were left nowhere because no personal appointment letter was provided and only a word of instruction was given to all of them to set out to the mentioned schools.
