Visakhapatnam will be made a tourist hub

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that in addition to make Visakhapatnam as financial capital also wants to make a tourism hub. On Tuesday, he laid foundations stones for various projects. He inaugurated VVIP lounge that was constructed at a cost of Rs.50 lakh. Meetings can be held with 300 people at this lounge. He also laid foundation stone for NAD Flyover that will come up at a cost of Rs.113.60 crore. He also laid foundation stone for TU 142 Aircraft Museum at a cost of Rs.10 crore.

Paryatan Parv

As a part of the ‘Paryatan Parv’ campaign Visakha Valley School organized a painting contest on Monday. Students displayed their artistic skills through their paintings depicting some of the tourist destinations. Essay writing competition was also held, said the Principal N.Vallisnath and the campaign will conclude on October 25.

Free dental camp

Andhra University Vice Chancellor G.Nageswara Rao today inaugurated a free dental camp on the campus. A team from Iris International Dental Care screened the university staff and students. Registrar V.Umamaheswara Rao, AU Medical Officer KSS Murty, Iris International Dental Care managing director Anil Dev Dutt were present.

BJP leaders stage dharna

BJP on Tuesday staged a dharna at the Gandhi statue condemning the alleged killing of BJP and RSS workers in Kerala. Party city president M.Nagendra who presided said the attacks on the party workers increased after the CPI(M) led LDF came to power. MLC PVN Madhav said 14 party men were murdered since 2016.

GMRIT gets second cleanest campus award

GMR Institute of Technology at Rajam in Srikakulam district has been awarded as the second cleanest campus in the country for the year 2017 by All India Council for Technical Education. COO of GMR Varalakshmi Foundation Laxmana Murty received the award on behalf of GMRIT at a function held recently in Pune. GMRIT bagged the award for undertaking various initiatives such as solid waste management, water conservation, energy conservation and e-waste management.

Sakala Reddy appointed as GVMC Additional Commissioner

The State government today issued orders appointing T.Sakala Reddy as the Additional Commissioner of GVMC. He is currently working in Rajahmundry RDMA. The post was fell vacant for the last few months.

The Regional Transport Officials have made available the fancy numbers on Thursday in the series AP 31 DU. The fancy number 1234 bagged Rs.1.71 lakh, Number 369 for Rs.45,850, number 1899 for Rs.22,300, number 2277 for Rs.37,300 in a bidding. The numbers that will be available for bidding on Wednesday are 999, 2222, 3333,4444,3366, 2345, 3636, 3699, on Friday 9999, 5555,6666, 7777, 8888, 4599, 6789, 9009 and 9099.

Campus interviews on October 20

Gopalapatnam:: Behara Educational institutions director Dr.Behara Vijaya Chaitanya said that campus interviews will be held at Behara Technical Campus at Narava on October 20 from 8am to 4.30pm. Those who passed diploma, Engineering graduates, diploma pharmacy candidates after 2015 can attend the interviews.
