BJP MLA Vishnu Kumar Raju demands probe in Pattiseema Lift Irrigation project

BJP MLA P.Vishnu Kumar Raju today demanded an inquiry into the alleged corruption of Rs.320 crore by the CBI or a sitting judge or engineering experts.

Vishnu Kumar Raju charges mainly centred on accepting an extra cost of Rs.22% instead of a premium of 5% for the original estimate of Rs.1,170 crore, paying Rs.21,313 for digging one cubic metre of earth totalling Rs.60 crore taking up an alternative method for pump house spending Rs.87.6 crore more and installing only 24 instead of 40 pumps. For shifting one lorry load of dug out earth, Rs.384 a cubic metre was paid instead of the fixed Rs.92.60 crore.

Speaking to reporters, he said that the evidence came to their notice in January, the CAG report pointed out the lacunae and the PAC of Assembly was not satisfied with the replies given by the officials concerned. He said that he would decide on the future course of action depending upon the Chief Minister’s response.
