Chandranna Bhima Padhakam renamed as ‘Pradhana Mantri-Chandranna Bhima Padhakam’.

The State government has renamed the existing Chandranna Bhima Padhakam’ as ‘Pradhana Mantri-Chandranna Bhima Padhakam’.

The renamed scheme would come into effective from October 2, 2017. It may be recalled that the programme was launched on October 2, 2016 and would complete one year by October 1, 2017. According to a statement issued by GVMC, the schemes of Aam Admi Bhima Yojana, Pradhana Mantri Jeevana Jyothi Bima Yojana, Pradhana Mantri Suraksha Bhima Yojana and the Individual Accident Bima Police of the State government are included to cover all unorganized sector in the new insurance scheme for a period of October 2, 2017 to May 31, 2018.

Under the scheme, the beneficiaries between the age of 18 to 60 or their dependents to get insurance of Rs.5 lakh for accidental death, up to Rs.2.50 lakh for temporary disability due to accident and up to Rs.5 lakh for permanent disability due to accident. The dependents of the beneficiaries would be entitled to get Rs.2 lakh for those aged between 18 to 50 and Rs.30,000 for those between 51 to 59 years in case of natural death. The entire policy amount will be paid by the State government.

The labourers need to pay Rs.15 a year towards the maintenance of the Call Centre in the district and towards enrolment team members’ honorarium. The last date for fresh enrolments is September 25, 2017.
