Former Bheemili Tehsildar Rama Rao arrested in tampering records case

The police had on Monday arrested former Tehsildar of Bheemili B.T.V.Rama Rao on charges of tampering of land records and corruption charges.

It may be recalled here that Rama Rao was absconding ever since cases were registered against him. The SIT that is investigating the case found him having misused the official position and helped private individuals to grab about 150 acres of land belonging to MANSAS in Chippada and Annavaram areas under Bheemili mandal.

According to sources, the land belongs to the Endowments department was given away by PVG Raju. Investigators found that he had collected huge amounts of money for issuing pattadar pass books. According to a press release, he got 1.5 acres registered in his father-in-law Ponnada Sundara Sambasiva Rao in Annavaram village which is worth over Rs.50 lakh in the market without paying any amount. It may be recalled that the government had formed SIT to investigate on Vizag land scam.

YSRCP demands probe into Ozone Valley:: YSRCP has demanded bringing the irregularities in the Ozone Valley land pooling in 2007 and of the construction in an open space in Section II of MVP Colony under the purview of the SIT. YSRCP leader Peetala Murty Yadav in a representation to the District Collector Pravin Kumar said the CB-CID had carried out an inquiry into the land polling and the then Vice Chairman K.Sasidhar submitted a report stating that VUDA suffered a loss of Rs.539.49 crore. Action should be taken against those involved in unauthorized construction in Section II of MVP and irregularities in Survey No.20/11A and 20/11B of Rushikonda, he said.
