HRD Minister presents ‘Pratibha’ awards to meritorious students

Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao today presented ‘Pratibha’ awards to 4000 meritorious students.

The students were given a cash prize of Rs.20,000, a certificate, a medal and a tab at a function held at the Zilla Parishad Hall today. Speaking on the occasion, he said that top priority was given to education with 17% of the budgetary allocation of which Rs.5,000 crore was for to improve basic amenities. He said by 2019, all schools will have toilets and playgrounds.

Kapu Corporation Chairman Ch.Ramanujaya said that the government’s intention was to improve its schools on par with the private institutions. Minister for Marketing Ch.Adinarayana said that students from poor economic backgrounds are excelling well in studies
