IMA opposes National Medical Commission

A motorcycle rally was taken out by the Visakhapatnam branch of IMA from Saraswathi Park to the Gandhi statue to protest against the Centre’s decision to set up a National Medical Commission.

The IMA conducted cycle rallies all over the country through its branches to register its protest against the National Medical Commission Bill which was tabled in the Parliament. IMA AP State general secretary Karuna Murthy and zonal secretary A Ramani described the move as outrageous. IMA leaders noted that the Centre was pushing the Bill on medical profession and education by replacing the elected body of the Medical Council of India.
