The four day ‘National Arogya Fair-2017’ that was organized jointly by the PHD Chamber and the Ministry of AYUSH at the AU Engineering College Grounds on Monday.

Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao participated as a chief guest at the valedictory of the fair said that the overwhelming response to the fair is an indication of growing patronage of systems of medicine by the people. He said that the alternative medicine systems like Ayurveda and Homoeopathy could provide a permant solution to many ailments without any side-effects.

The Minister said that the government has earmarked Rs.7,020 crore for health in the budget this year and briefed about the programmes being undertaken for the welfare of the people.

Principal Director of PHD Chamber, Vivek Seigell said that 70 exhibitors from all over the country had participated in the fair. Over 50,000 people had visited the fair during the last three days and 31,000 people had visited on Sunday alone, he said. 12,000 out patients were examined by the doctors, he said.
