Police arrests Nigerian for dry ganja smuggling

A Nigerian was arrested by City Task Force on Saturday night for trying to smuggle dry ganja.

The arrested was identified as Charles Chuks (40) who came to the country about 8 months ago on business visa was living in Hyderabad. Assistant Commissioner of Police (CTF) I.Chittibabu said that they conducted a raid near Government Eye Hospital on reliable information and was arrested when he was trying to smuggle 24 kg of dry ganja worth Rs.96,000.

Police sources said that the accused visited the city and some parts of agency five times and he had smuggled ganja to Hyderabad, Nagpur, Delhi and Chennai. The ACP said that they are yet to ascertain the profession of the foreigner in India. ‘We failed to unlock the mobile phone of the foreigner. Though we have sized the passport, we are yet to ascertain whether it is genuine or fake’, said Chittibabu. The accused was handed over to Inspector of Dwaraka police station for further investigation.
