Praja Spandana opposes fuel station near school

Praja Spandana opposes the functioning of a retail fuel bunk near Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan School at Akkayyapalem.

The president of Praja Spandana C.S.Rao has said that the lives of hundreds of school children are in danger. The school had been functioning for the last 25 years and to ensure safety it got a service road laid for the entry of children closing the main entrance, he said at a press conference. A gas go down that had been located there earlier and a petrol outlet that was functioned during limited hours for the convenience of port employees were also closed considering the safety of the school children.

The fuel station was proposed to be located hardly 100 meters from the school and though no permission should be given without a service road to the outlet eight departments had given permissions, he said. Rao said that the officials who granted permission would be held responsible and accountable in case of any untoward incident happens. He threatened to take up an agitation along with the parents if it was not wound up.
