R&B Minister Ayyanna Patrudu inaugurates three SAAP academies

Minister for Roads and Buildings Ch.Ayyanna Patrudu today inaugurated Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh’s academies for archery and rifle-shooting at Sanskruti Global School, Parawada.

He described the new sports policy as the best one and is providing reservation to sportspersons would help the youth takig up sports enthusiastically. He said that except Railways and public sector oil companies, no organization was providing quota for sportspersons for employment.

The Minister said that the potential of Girijans in archery and fishermen in swimming should be put to good use for getting medals. Principal Secretary, Sports L.V.Subramanyam said as part of the sports policy, physical literacy would be introduced in 60,000 schools. Six SAAP academies – three each for boys and girls were being launched and those selected would get national and international-level coaching. District Collector Pravin Kumar said that the academies being started in PPP mode would be provided buildings and other infrastructure.
