Six suspected anthrax cases reported

Six persons from Dumbriguda mandal were admitted to KGH with symptoms of anthrax infection today.

KGH Superintendent G.Arjuna said that those admitted were T.Donnu, M.Ratnthu, K.Gasi, J.Srinivasarao, and T.Raju and a woman T.Somoni all are from the agency area. They reportedly consumed the meat of a dead goat and developed characteristic anthrax lesion on their hands, legs and face. All the six suspected to have cutaneous anthrax lesions and the screened blood samples were taken for investigation. They were kept in the isolation ward and are being treated.
