TET to be made mandatory for private school teachers

The State government will issue guidelines for running private schools, including making Teacher Eligibility Test qualified faculty mandatory said HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao.

The teachers will be issued identity cards. District Educational Officers were asked to identify the schools without recognition and a list would be published in May, he said today. In spite of allocating thousands of crores of rupees on quality education and providing several facilities in government schools, parents were spending their hard earned money on private school admissions said the Minister.
