BJP MLA Vishnu Kumar Raju’s plea to Chief Minister

BJP MLA P.Vishnu Kumar Raju today asked the Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu to direct the concerned to shift some wine shops in the Visakha North constituency. He said in response to the representation submitted by him, Chandrababu directed the District Collector Pravin Kumar to look into the demand and take necessary action. It may be recalled that the residents of several colonies have been protesting against granting permission to set up wine shops in their localities giving scope for anti-social elements.

Beach clean up programme

Over 230 students, teachers and parents of Oakridge International School participated in a beach cleaning drive as part of the International Coastal Cleanup Day on Saturday. The event was held in association with Internal Ocean Conservancy, USA and Indian Maritime Foundation, Chennai. Donning gloves and wearing masks, the students collected the garbage in trash bags at RK Beach. GVMC Commissioner M.Harinarayan was chief guest on the occasion.

Seminar on mother tongue

Right to Education Forum – AP will conduct a seminar on ‘Protect our mother tongue’ at Visakhapatnam Public Library on Tuesday. Telugu Bhashodyama Samakhya president Samala Ramesh Babu will be the key speaker at the seminar which will begin at 11am.

CITU demand

At a seminar organized here on Sunday by CITU, members of Mutha Workers Union has demanded creation of comprehensive law so that workers can come under the cover of ESI and PF. They also demanded constitution of National Welfare Board.
