• Passing out parade:: As many as 74 Civil Defence Volunteers participated in the passing out parade of 214th batch of Civil Defence Organization here today. The volunteers were tained in warden service, first aid, fire-fighting and communication and other courses from February 5 to March 1.

• Campus interview:: Elmira Laboratories Private Limited, Hyderabad conducted campus interview at AU College of Science and Technology on Thursday. Final year students of MSc took part in the recruitment process coordinated by AU Placement Officer K.Basavaiah and director of Elmira Laboratories R.Maram.

• ICAR scientists stage protest:: In response to a call given by Agricultural Research Service Scientists’ Forum representing the largest scientific community of ICAAR, a black badge protest was observed by scientists of CMFRI and CIFT today. The forum demanded early implementation of revised pay and five days a week work. The forum criticised the apathy of the authorities in conceding their genuine demands.

• Singapore team visits Port:: A delegation from Singapore led by Director of Economic Development Tan Siew Ling, Director of Institutional Development Eric Tan Huck Gim and others paid a good-will visit to Visakhapatnam Port Trust today. They were received by VPT Deputy Chairman P.L.Haranadh who made a presentation on the functioning, traffic projections, environment management initiatives and capacity augmentation and modernization of the port.
